Where artistry meets the everyday

MurrinaMurano Venezia is one of Italy’s most recognized names in fashion jewelry. The company was founded in Venice by Giorgio Scarpa Schoos, a lifelong connoisseur of the glass arts, together with Mauro Rossetto, a long-time entrepreneur in the region’s glassworks. Their idea was simple: the beauty of Italian glassmaking belongs in the modern wardrobe, not only in a museum.

Hand-formed at the flame

Every bead is shaped by hand using Lavorazione a Lume — the Venetian art of working glass at a flame, inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2020 as the art of glass beads. Solid glass rods are heated and shaped by skilled artisans, often around a metal mandrel, into the beads that become each piece. Because every bead is shaped by hand, no two pieces are ever identical.

A Venetian tradition

Lavorazione a Lume has been practiced for centuries on and around the Venetian lagoon, historically by women known as the Perlere — Venice’s bead makers. The tradition is still alive today, passed from one generation of artisans to the next.

Daniele has spent more than forty years in Italian jewelry, exporting throughout the United States and helping pioneer new techniques in gold electroforming through the 1990s and early 2000s. He knows Italian craft the way a sommelier knows wine. He has worked with the makers, visited the workshops, and watched the tradition evolve.

MurrinaMurano Venezia US is the culmination of that career. After a lifetime spent bringing Italian jewelry to American showrooms, Daniele wanted to bring one of Italy’s iconic jewelry brands to you directly — through Ora-Dora LLC, the exclusive authorized U.S. distributor of MurrinaMurano Venezia.
